Winterize Your Hair Care Routine

Do you notice your hair getting dry and frizzy, staticky, having breakage, and or scalp irritation? These are the main concerns when it comes to your hair during the winter months.

Here's how we can help prevent these issues:

First Up: Hydrate!

Hydration is key. You should change up your shampoo with the seasons. During the colder months, opt for a more hydrating shampoo and conditioner. OWAY Silk n' Glow line is perfect for this.

Weekly Hair Masks are a Must!

Dry and cold winter air can cause your hair to become staticky. Everyone loves the feeling of soft hair and the best way to revive it is with a hair mask. At least once a week apply your favorite mask (OWAY Silk n' Glow hair mask works wonders!) to keep your hair happy, moisturized, smooth, and static free! Make sure to apply the mask on clean hair, then towel dry and apply your mask for at least 3-5 minutes and rinse out. It's that easy!

Scalp Treatments

There are many things to do for irritated and itchy scalps. For example, moisture rich oils can make a huge difference. And regular scalp treatments, such as the Purifying Dandruff Ritual at Agape, can provide the best results. At home, you can use a scalp massage tool to work in hair oils to help with blood flow to promote healthy hair growth and to remove buildup. Resulting in smoother heathier hair!

Regular Hair Trims

Haircuts are always recommended to prevent breakage and to also regulate healthy hair growth. On average, trims should be done every 6-8 weeks. Ask your stylist what's recommended for you!

ALWAYS Dry Your Hair

Leaving the house with wet hair and going to bed with wet hair contributes to breakage and scalp irritation. It’s always recommended to use a leave-in conditioner and heat protectant before blow drying your hair. This should always be done before leaving the house or going to bed. Why? Because the friction of your wet hair on your pillow at night can cause the hair to become frizzy and damaged. Wet hair is more vulnerable to breakage; therefore, drying it will save your hairs luster and shine.
